Numbers and countries
Where numbers are instant, where a carrier checks first, and how a number is kept.
Whether a number is instant is carrier regulation, not our policy. This table is read from the same catalog the product sells from.
| Country | Number | Recording |
|---|---|---|
| United States (US) | Instant — no paperwork | One-party consent |
| New Zealand (NZ) | After a carrier check | One-party consent |
| Australia (AU) | After a carrier check | All-party consent |
| United Kingdom (GB) | After a carrier check | One-party consent |
| Canada (CA) | Instant — no paperwork | One-party consent |
Where a carrier checks first
- New Zealand — contact details and a physical address. Text fields; no documents.
- Australia — one document (proof of address), plus address and contact details.
- United Kingdom — two documents plus four text fields.
We check with the carrier every night and email you the verdict. An approval arrives together with your new number. A rejection carries the carrier’s own reasons.
Keeping your number
| Status | What it means |
|---|---|
active | The plan is inside its validity window and your AI answers. |
reserved | Being set up. Not answering yet. |
grace | The plan has expired. The number is held for 25 days but your AI is not answering. Renewing puts it back on the same number. |
released | The number went back to the carrier. It cannot be guaranteed back. |
Numbers returns these statuses, and the number.released webhook tells you when one goes.
