My number is not answering
The three things to check, in order.
1. Is the agent live?#
A draft agent answers nothing. Open the agent and check its status — pressing Go live is what puts it on the line.
2. Is the plan active?#
Check Billing. A plan in grace still holds the number, but a lapsed one has stopped answering. Renewing restores it.
3. Is an agent attached to the number?#
Open Numbers. If you have several agents and never set a default, nothing was attached automatically — pick one there.
If callers hear "not in service"#
That is a paused or archived agent. Pausing routes the number nowhere, and a number routed nowhere is rejected by the carrier with exactly that message. Make the agent live again and the line answers.
NoteA silent line and a "not in service" line are different faults. Silence points at the first three checks above; the carrier’s own message points at a paused agent.
